Mumbai : Pudhari News Service
The popularity of polytechnic diploma courses in the state remains strong. This year, 10th-grade passed students responded overwhelmingly to admissions. The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) released the final merit list, which includes 1,41,005 students. Notably, 5 students who scored a perfect 100% marks applied for diploma engineering admissions, while a total of 6,791 students scoring above 90% chose polytechnic courses.
The final merit list for first-year post-10th diploma engineering and technology courses has been published. It includes 1,40,368 candidates from within the state, 568 from other states, and 3 candidates from the Jammu & Kashmir category. Among them, 93,542 are male students and 47,463 are female students.
Across over 400 polytechnics in the state, the total intake capacity exceeds 1,20,000 seats. Growing job opportunities in the industrial sector, the emphasis on skill-based education, and direct employment options right after the diploma—as well as direct second-year degree admission availability—have driven student preference toward polytechnic institutes.
Compared to last year, the number of applicants for polytechnic admissions increased by 4,905 students. Notably, participation from students scoring between 70% and 84% marks is significant. This trend reflects the higher percentage of students passing with elevated marks in the 10th-grade results this year.

-
96% to 99% Marks: 352 students
