The Department of Information Technology was established in 2008 in our polytechnic. We, the Department of Information Technology, are committed to furnishing students with cutting-edge skills in the area of IT technologies along with practical orientation to face the challenges of modern IT industries.

Information Technology (IT) is the branch of engineering where computers are used to store, study, retrieve, transmit, and compute data or information for business and other enterprise applications. Our motto is to prepare students as complete professionals who can pursue higher studies, build successful careers in industries and become entrepreneurs.

Every industry depends on Information Technology, including banking, financial services, retail, media, pharmacy, automobile, manufacturing, telecom, hospitality and many other sectors. Information Technology and software solutions have become an integral part of government bodies, start-up firms and small & medium enterprises.

Newly emerging trends and technologies such as cloud computing, mobile applications, social media and data analytics give rise to new opportunities in the IT sector.

The Department of Information Technology has a student association named ‘IN-TECH’, which has been fruitful in motivating future technocrats by organizing various technical events. IN-TECH organizes the state-level technical event ‘PRAYUKTI’ along with department-level activities comprising project competitions, paper presentation competitions, online quiz competitions and technical seminars.

These activities provide students with valuable opportunities to enhance their technical knowledge, creativity, communication skills, teamwork and problem-solving abilities. The department strives to create an environment that promotes innovation, excellence and lifelong learning.
