The Department of Information Technology was established in 2008 in our polytechnic. We the department of Information Technology are here with objective to furnish students with cutting-edge skills in the area of IT technologies along with practical orientation to face challenges of modern IT industries. Information Technology (IT) is the branch of engineering where computers are used to store, study, retrieve, transmit, and compute data, or information for business or other enterprise application.Our moto is to prepare the student a complete professional who can go for higher studies, can get along with industries as well as can become entrepreneurs. Every industry depends on IT like banking, financial services, retail, media, pharmacy, automobile, manufacturing, telecom, hospitality etc. Information Technology & software solutions have become a part of all companies like Government bodies, start-up firms and small & medium enterprises. Newly emerging trends & technologies like cloud computing, mobile applications, social media & data analytics give rise to new opportunities in this sector.The department of Information Technology has student’s association named ‘IN-TECH’ which has been fruitful in motivating the future technocrats by organizing various technical events. The IN-TECH has been organizing a State Level Technical event ‘PRAYUKTI’ and department level comprising of Project competition, paper presentation competition, online quiz competition and also technical seminars has been receiving awe-inspiring response each year.The Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Polytechnic is one of Best Polytechnic in Nashik.
