

The Department of Science and Humanity at MVPS’s Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Polytechnic, Nashik, celebrated National Mathematics Day in honors of the legendary Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan with great enthusiasm and active student participation. The event aimed to promote logical thinking, creativity, and appreciation for the beauty of mathematics among first-year diploma students. The celebration featured three major competitions designed to engage students with mathematics in diverse and interactive ways. These activities created a vibrant environment where students could showcase both their intellectual abilities and creative skills.
Activities conducted
- Quiz Competition: Focused on testing students’ speed, accuracy, and logical precision through thought‑provoking mathematical questions.
- Poster Competition: Encouraged students to present mathematical ideas artistically, blending visual creativity with core mathematical themes.
- Mathematics Model Competition: Enabled students to bring abstract mathematical concepts to life through innovative and practical models.
The program was successfully organized under the visionary guidance of Principal Prof. Prashant Patil and Mr. T. K. Thange, Head of Department, Science and Humanity. Their support ensured that the event aligned with the academic objectives of the institution while inspiring students to engage deeply with mathematics.

The event proved to be highly beneficial for the students. To strengthen the academic culture of the college by integrating commemorative days with meaningful academic activities rather than only ceremonial functions. The Department expressed gratitude to the resource person, management, faculty, and students for making the event a memorable and meaningful learning experience.
